In conversation with Jason (the Mr Bootle who creates all this web stuff for me) it came up again that it takes some effort to get me to talk about me.
As a coach I have become adept at skipping quickly through my story and getting into the client’s world. This in itself has meant the [...]
Should a coach talk about himself or herself?
Moving On
As you make your way through life and encounter tough times, difficult choices, elders may often remind you that ‘things are sent to try us’. In many ways they were masterful at carrying these trials and suffering with them, for years, even for lifetimes. But we are in different times now, exploring and expanding your potential is your right and your journey.
What Game Are You Playing?
What you are up to, in your career or across the span of your entire life can be described as ‘the game you are playing’. Are you playing your own game, or taking part in someone else’s? Are you paddling along (waiting for something to change), or actively creating or noticing positive change?
The Rest of Your Life
When I say ‘the rest of your life’, I could mean however many years you have left. Re-setting Your Wake-Up Default Mode
Much has been written about the number of thoughts we have every day (something in the order of 60 thousand) and that most of them are the same as the previous day. What I take from this stat is that our change plans and personal evolution tends to happen slowly, certainly more slowly than is possible.
Pause Newsletter Bonus – 4. Every moment has become a blackberry moment
Technology has leapt forward in recent years, enabling almost constant connection and updates with what’s going on. When you are in overwhelm, overload and over committed, the technology seems to take over and your time is now longer your own.
Pause Newsletter Bonus – 3. Taking ‘Gap’ tasks with you, everywhere
The third symptom of overwhelm & overload is this. When a gap appears, natural break, train ride, stuck in traffic, you carry with you piles of tasks hungry for your attention. There is a better way – continuing with this symptom ain’t good!
Pause Newsletter Bonus – 2. You’re Double Tasking
Here’s some more thinking behind the need to “Pause”, the second bonus focusing on helping those of you who have noticed that you are double-tasking.
