Important? You Decide

March 31st, 2010

As if to remind me of the strength needed to remain focused on what I know (deep down) is important, an interesting thing has just occurred for me.

I have just received an email from a site to which I have been subscribed for a few years, stating the importance and urgency of their latest email.

It was screaming to win my attention. I immediately opened it (has it won already?) with the express intention to unsubscribe. After all I have opened some, acted on a few and filed the rest, unopened ready for that mythical day when I have time to browse old emails (this day has yet to arrive in my calendar).

Before getting to the unsubscribe option, I was drawn into scan reading what the mail was actually all about (it is winning isn’t it?). Then my newly rediscovered Importance Navigator kicked in again, and I did it I unsubscribed. Hurrah!

Just notice who is screaming for your attention and controlling your Importance Navigator for you. Just notice and then decide for yourself.

Good luck and keep it simple.
